 Introduction 

LightNoC is a configurable light but complete Network On Chip (NoC) model in VHDL. It defines a switch which has by default five Network Interfaces (four directions and one processing element) and a central router (arbiter). The switches can be connected to form any kind of network topologies, e.g. a mesh.

 Short Description

 

The top level entity of the NoC is switch located in switch.vhd. A number of this configurable switch must be instantiated and connected to each other is a desired manner. All of the handshakings are handled automatically. Each switch received packets from its Processing Element (PE) and routes it in order to reach the designated destination. Each sub-designs and components are fully configurable and are accompanied by a tester resided in their declaration files. The general structure of switch is like the following figure:
